A Day in Grand Rapids
Michigan, a state most well known for its auto industry and cold winters, is also home to a number of up-and-coming cities that are drawing industry and people into the state. One such city is Grand Rapids.
The home to several art museums, the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum, and some of the most popular Michigan breweries, the city has become a hub for art, history, and beer.
I began my day wandering through the many stalls of an art fair the city puts on every year. Artists from across the country travel to Grand Rapids for these events, and the paintings, trinkets, and pottery they brought with them did not disappoint.
Build on the Grand River, the city is full of water views. The restaurant I chose for lunch looked over the river, and the experience did not disappoint.
My afternoon and evening were spent participating in one of the most popular Grand Rapids attractions, the Beer and Brewery tour. The tours run every weekend and lets you sample the best beers Michigan has to offer.
I was sad to leave this trendy city, but greatly enjoyed my day and all Grand Rapids has to offer.
